Most small businesses in the UK use AI in some form — 79% of Enterprise Nation’s 150,000 members do. Fewer than half have moved beyond the surface layer. The gap is not motivation: 84% say they are ready to engage. It is implementation. Owners default to ChatGPT as a chat interface, miss what AI can do inside their actual systems, and move on when it doesn’t deliver.
